Andy Murray has crashed out of the BNP Paribas Open in the second round following a straight sets defeat to Guillermo Garcia-Lopez.
The British number one, who was given a bye in the first round, was widely expected to overcome his Spanish opponent, who is ranked 92 in the world and has lost in straight sets in his only two previous meetings with the Scot.
Murray was also full of confidence going into the tournament after reaching the final of the Dubai World Championships last month, beating world number one Novak Djokovic in the process. However, Garcia-Lopez took just an hour and 40 minutes to complete a 6-4 6-2 victory to make it two years in a row Murray has crashed out in his first game at Indian Wells. "I didn't move my best tonight, but it didn't feel like I was moving really badly. He hardly missed the ball the whole match," said the 24-year-old."I wasn't able to hit through the court and I squandered so many chances." - http://www.setanta.com/
