Marina Erakovic so far int he season, but she failed to impress until the tournament in Memphis started. It seems that she really liked those indoor conditions, because she was performing well there, getting all the way to the finals, but lost there to Arvidsson. Still, we have to mention that players which she defated on her way were not top quality.

Voskoboeva several times last season and I know that she can perform on very high level, but inconsistency with her games is her main problem, imho. So far this season, her best result was 3rd round at Australian open, but she haven't played since she retired from first round match on tournament in Pattaya (1 month ago).

Murray is playing strong. The English player made Djokovic work really hard at the Australian Open. Before the Grand Slam he won the tournament of Brisbane.
.

Berrer came through the qualifications by beating Ito in two tie breaks. He is doing well, reaching the semi final at Zagreb, but Murray is just too tough I expect. Murray wants to finish it quickly, he will not give a set away.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Top-seed Gael Monfils has withdrawn from the SAP Open because of right knee inflammation, even though he never played a meaningful match in San Jose.
The Frenchman said Wednesday night he also plans to withdraw from next week's ATP Tour stop in Memphis and take a brief break from tennis. He will have an MRI on both knees when he returns home.
Monfils had been scheduled to play qualifier Dimitar Kutrovsky in the second round Thursday.
Monfils teamed with Steve Johnson in a light-hearted exhibition doubles match loss against John McEnroe and Jack Sock on Monday. He also helped France defeat Canada in the first round of the Davis Cup on Sunday.
Monfils says he hopes to return for the Sony Ericsson Open beginning March 21 in Key Biscayne, Fla.

Roddick forced out

Australian star progresses after Roddick injury

Home favourite Lleyton Hewitt is through to the third round of this year's Australian Open after Andy Roddick quit their contest.

Roddick took the first set of the battle of the former world number ones but he soon fell behind in the second following a stumble and it soon became apparent he had a problem with his leg.

At 3-0 down, the four-time Melbourne semi-finalist left the court for treatment.

When he returned, the 15th seed battled on gamely, but Hewitt's relentless chasing style is not suited to anyone carrying an injury and when the Aussie took the third set, Roddick decided it was time to call it a day.

The score was 3-6 6-3 6-4 at the time.

"It was a nightmare for both of us,'' said Hewitt.

"Obviously Andy stretched something and it's hard to concentrate for the player up the other end.

"Andy is such a great fighter so you know when he is struggling. - http://www1.skysports.com/

Day One of the Qatar Exxonmobil Open 2012 saw No. 8 seed Andreas Seppi of Italy take on Poland’s Lukasz Kubot to start the matches on Center Court. Seppi easily won 6-3, 6-2. The official opening match of the tournament followed when No. 5 seed Viktor Troicki of Serbia faced Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic and Troicki won 6-4, 7-6(4). No. 6 seed, Russia’s Alex Bogomolov, lost the first set to Italy’s Filippo Volandri but battled back to win the match 5-7, 6-4, 6-2.

The final round of qualifying matches were played on the outer courts on Monday and the four players who qualified for the main draw were Denis Gremelmayr of Germany, Roberto Bautista-Agut of Spain, Grega Zemlja of Slovakia and Matthias Bachinger.

Around the grounds, fans spotted some of their favorite players as Swiss master Roger Federer hosted a kid’s clinic on Court 6 and Andreas Seppi of Italy visited the ExxonMobil sponsor booth to sign autographs. - http://www.qatartennis.org/
