Andy Murray lost out to Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the final of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami on Sunday.
The British number one was well beaten in the opening set as he lost back-to-back service games, before stepping up a gear in the second set which he took to a tie break. However, Djokovic came out on top to seal the match 6-1 7-6 (7-4). Murray's serve was no match for the world number one throughout and he could have no complaints about the result afterwards.
"In the first set Novak served and returned really well. They were really tough conditions and long points," he said in the post-match interview on Sky Sports 2. "It was a pretty long match. Congrats to Novak. He played the best tennis all week."
Djokovic, who also defeated Murray in five sets on his way to the Australian Open title in January, was delighted with the win but praised the Scot for his fighting spirit.
"Andy was very close to winning the second set. The match could have gone either way," he said. "I had opportunities to break in the second set and close out the match quicker but then he might have won it later on. "I thought I played really well from beginning to end. There were a lot of long rallies and they were tough conditions."
